Wayne Emmitt Burnette, 90, of 4175 Puncheon Fork Rd., Mars Hill, NC passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Madison Health and Rehab. He was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a son of the late Bertram E. and Vertie Thomas Burnette. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lois English Burnette. Wayne was a farmer, a member of Bright Hope Laurel United Methodist Church and loved fox hunting with his hunting buddies.
Surviving are his sons; Victor Wayne, Les E., James “Bo” and wife Margaret Burnette, daughter, Glenna Burnette Collins, sister, Bobby Ann Snelson, grandchildren; Stephanie Burnette, James and wife Tanya Burnette, Kendra and Luke Burnette and Garrett Anders.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends J. D. Deyton and Harold Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Upper English Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Sunday. At other times the family will be at the home of Bo and Margaret Burnette, 840 Bruce Road.
