Joan Shook Adams, 79, of 913 Smith Creek Rd., passed away, January 25, 2016. Mrs. Adams was born February 13, 1936 to the late Temple and Nova English Shook. She was a resident of Cayce, SC most of her adult life. She returned to where she grew up after her husband’s retirement and has lived here for the past thirteen years.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David L. Adams; two sons, Danny Adams of Swansea, SC and Lynn C. Adams of Monroe, NC; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Kaye L. Hamlin; six brothers, Ted (Linda), Vernon (Edna), James, Bill (Glenda), Roger (Sherry) and Dewey(Gloria); one aunt Gertrude Jones of Emporia, VA and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, January 28, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Kermit Ball will officiate. Burial will follow in the English-Metcalf Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
