James Shelton, 80, of Arden, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Kie and Violet Vest Shelton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife; Bertha “Doad” Cutshaw Shelton; infant daughter, Carolyn Elaine Shelton; sister, Zettie Lamb; brothers, Gilbert Bailey, Voaid “John” and Clinton “Red” Shelton.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Payne (Fiancé John); sisters, Iva Lee Griffey (Dewey), Viannie Metcalf (Rob); grandchildren, Krystal Paulson (Shannon), Logan and Lauren Payne; one great grandchild, Abby Paulson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00pm in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday at the Lisenbee Cemetery with Reverends Eddie Roberts and Evert Shelton officiating. Burial will follow the service.
