Thomas G. Wilf, Jr. (Gordon), age 91, of Barnardsville, NC passed away on Sunday, January 21 2018, of natural causes at the Charles George VA Medical Center Hospice care unit in Asheville, NC.
Gordon was born in February of 1926 to Maurine and Thomas G. Wilf, Senior of West Palm Beach Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Hilda. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII, surviving the Normandy invasion, and serving again during the Korean conflict.
Upon leaving the Navy he became a successful entrepreneur and businessman in West Palm Beach, Fl until retiring with his wife, Hilda, to his wife’s ancestral home-place in Barnardsville, NC.
Gordon is survived by: his sister Juanita Dowdy of WV, including several nieces and nephews. His daughter Alice Wilf and son Thomas Wilf III. Three grandchildren; Thomas Wilf IV, Stuart Wilf, Andrew Wilf and Three Great-Grandchildren; Thomas Wilf V, Ava Wilf and Grayson Wilf.
In accordance with his wishes, a small graveside service, for the immediate family, will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Absolom Dilligham Cemetary (aka Wiliams Branch) in Barnardsville, NC.
